Leadbitter Celebrates Opening of New Southampton Office
18-01-2012The Leadbitter Group marked the official opening of its new Southampton office at Botleigh Grange Office Campus on Tuesday 17th January 2012.
The ceremony was attended by David Cook, Regional Director of Leadbitter’s Southern Housing and Construction division and members of the Group’s main board. Invited guests comprised local business people and suppliers who have worked with the company in the recent past.
Leadbitter’s relocation to the new 3,200 square foot office on the ground floor of Burlington House is in response to a highly successful year for the division, which continues to grow rapidly, despite tough economic conditions. The new office space is 60% larger than its previous premises and reflects the division’s 60% increase in turnover and 60% increase in staff numbers in the past 12 months.
The division has seen success in constructing both commercial and residential developments throughout the south of England. Current projects on-site include the £22 million major mixed use development contract to regenerate Brewery Square in Dorchester, the £35 million construction of new Academy facilities in Hampton and Twickenham under the Partnerships for Schools programme and a £13 million regeneration project to provide 159 new homes in North Town, Aldershot.
Recently completed projects include two accommodation projects providing in excess of 600 student bedrooms and the Kimmeridge Lecture Theatre for Bournemouth University, a new Dental Academy at the University of Portsmouth’s School of Professionals Complementary to Dentistry, and the £22 million Phase 3 campus redevelopment project for Southampton City College.
In addition, the division has been responsible for redeveloping Eastgate Square in Chichester and constructing care accommodation for the elderly in Winchester and Windsor, as well as affordable housing developments throughout Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Dorset.
David Cook said: “Our turnover has increased significantly in the last 18 months. With an order book of secured work sitting at record levels for 2012 and beyond, the future for our division looks to be extremely favourable. The move to these bigger offices is further proof that the Leadbitter Group is going from strength to strength in the south of England.
