In March 2009 apprentices, full-time students and pupils from local schools worked together during an action-packed week of tasks and competitions designed by Southampton City College’s construction department with support and donations of materials from Leadbitter and local companies.

Based on a series of construction challenges, workshops and seminars. Industry Week was in keeping with Leadbitter’s commitment to promoting vocational and professional career opportunities within the construction sector.

Five days of events were designed to give learners and prospective students hands-on experience that mirrored working practice. Prime Minister Gordon Brown took the opportunity to visit the College to also launch National Apprenticeships Week.
